Watchdog for Xcode App Reviews

10 Customer Reviews:

edit: 30/07/15 Does not work anymore, clean action does not empty derived data folder, even after grant. No support, not worth the price — Useful, improvements would be welcome. @dev: the « clean at x gigs » option is my preferences but it’s a bugger, it may (and will probably) trigger in the middle of a build or release and make everything crash. It could be cool to have an option to display a confirmation popup before cleaning on size changes. Thanks

Watchdog keeps running in the background and cleans up the derived data from Xcode. This was a constant pain for me as Xcode produced odd errors every now and then, which took some effort to fix (which eventually made me less productive). Ever since using Watchdog this is a thing of the past.

Useful. Get it!

I have it running all the time. Saves a lot of grieve overall. The icon is a bit hideous, but whatever. Get it.

Application is well thought but delete after clean is detected feature is not working properly. I waited 1 min after clean is made and still did not delete derived data and when i try to build project, it deleted derived data and caused build to failed. using Xcode 5.0.2

Watchdog does exactly what the description says. It fills the functionality that is missing from Xcode and does so quickly and unobtrusively. The developer is very responsive - I’ve asked for a black and white menu bar icon and got it in the next update.

The app looks useful! Unfortunately, I likely won’t keep the app running at all times due to the menubar icon cluttering my bar. The menubar icon is pretty bad, especially the colored one. Thanks for adding the black/white preference, but the menubar icon should be much simpler and black and white as default. It is currently far too ugly and busy. You should also give an option to run in the background without a menubar icon. The app should also be gone through with an eye to the Apple HIG (Human Interface Guidelines): the preferences checkbox with “Yes” next to it is especially hilarious. The menubar icon doesn’t use NSStatusBarItem’s `highlightMode` property; no blue glow when clicked. Very un-Mac-like. I also cannot right-click the menubar icon. Good start! Looks useful, but needs an update!

Useful! Unfortunately, terrible UI and menubar icon.
